Christine Stuart CNMWe are very happy to welcome Christine Stuart CNM, WHNP-BC, MSN. She comes to us from Lubbock, TX, where she owns a home-birth practice. Christine earned her Master’s in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and her post-Master’s CNM Certificate at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center at Denver. She has worked in women’s health for 13 years, 10 of those as a Labor and Delivery nurse. Most recently, she has cared for women as a CNM in a home-birth setting. She is committed to out-of-hospital deliveries. Christine is married and is the mother of the three children. We are pleased to welcome her to the Birth and Women’s Center family. Beverly Hook Beverly Hook, whom many of you know as a Birth Assistant, soon will be joining Cherie as a staff midwife. Bev previously practiced home birth and has been an integral part of our center since we opened 18 years ago. She currently is completing her licensure as a Certified Professional Midwife. She will be seeing clients for prenatal visits as well as being on call for births. This marks the first time we have been able to utilize Bev’s midwifery talents because of a welcomed change by the American College of Nurse-Midwives and by our malpractice insurer, which now covers Certified Professional Midwives. Bev has five children, three of whom were born at home with Cherie. |
